Our Services

We provide the best care for you through our wide-range of nutrition services for individuals, groups and businesses. We seek to best meet our patients' needs and proudly offer bilingual support in Spanish, Hindi, and Greek.

For Individuals

Below is a list of all the services in which we specialize. If you do not find what you are looking for please contact us!

For GroupS

We offer three group counseling options: (1) two-person (2) workshop series (3) support group.

With the two-person option, we can support a parent & child, spouses, and significant others. It is our belief that the support of a parent, spouse, or significant other can contribute to a healthy living. Reserve this by calling us at (212) 419-0399 or e-mail us at info@compassnutrition.com.

With the workshop series option, we instruct and facilitate an interactive group class once a week for eight weeks. Each series has a maximum of 10 participants. The workshop series creates a weekly supportive environment that will help you share, encourage, and learn from other participants. The added benefit is that you do not need to be an existing patient of Compass Nutrition to participate.

We offer a Mindful Eating small group that is co-facilitated by an RDN and an LMSW. Mindful Eating is the non-diet approach to weight loss. In a supportive group environment, we work on the techniques and behaviors that retrains you to listen to your body's natural cues of hunger & fullness, and how to eat within those boundaries while covering body image and food & feelings.

This support group is for anyone who has chosen the "non-diet" approach to overcoming emotional overeating & destructive dieting, and would like to share their struggles, joys, & other experiences.

Call our office at (212) 419-0399 or e-mail us at info@compassnutrition.com to sign up.

For metabolism testing

Why Can't I Lose Weight?

Weight loss looks different for each person and can cause frustration when you do not know what works for you. Many factors can affect weight loss like eating habits, physical activity, sleep patterns, alcohol intake, food quality (i.e. take-out, restaurants, home cooking), hydration or metabolism.

Your metabolism converts food and stored fat into energy that your body can use to stay warm, move around, keep vital organs functioning, and even think. Metabolism can be measured in calories. The Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) is the number of calories your body burns at rest (which means if you did nothing but lay in bed all day). Testing your RMR using a device called the BodyGem® can give our RDNs an accurate measurement of your calorie needs.

With your RMR, our RDNs have the details to create a plan for your metabolism and body composition. For some individuals, you may need to increase your exercise to lose weight. For others, you may need to adjust your nutrition. The BodyGem® helps us discover the difference.

FOR FOOD SENSITIVITY TESTING (MRT-LEAP)

Is Your Food Making You Sick?

Are you suffering from stubborn or annoying health problems that will not go away no matter what you try? Perhaps the medications and treatments you are taking or have taken are not providing any relief. Learn more about our Food Sensitivity Testing (MRT-LEAP) here.

for Diabetes

Helping You Manage Your Diabetes Through Nutrition.

For those with Pre-Diabetes, Type 1 & Type 2 Diabetes, and Gestational Diabetes balancing food, exercise, medications, blood sugar monitoring, and stress can be a lot of work or feel overwhelming.

If you have Pre-Diabetes making lifestyle changes can prevent or delay Pre-Diabetes from becoming Diabetes.

If you have Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes, there are many misconceptions out there regarding what you should and should not eat. There is no list of forbidden foods, sugar & carbs are not “forbidden,” and yes you can still continue to enjoy eating at your favorite restaurants with Diabetes.

Gestational Diabetes is a common complication of pregnancy. It develops during pregnancy and often ends after birth. However, high levels of high blood sugar levels may lead to high birth weights, childhood obesity, and increased risk for Type 2 diabetes in the child. Our expert team helps you understand how it develops and why it is important to maintain normal blood sugar, which is really important for all pregnancies. We focus on using a real food, nutrient dense, lower carbohydrate approach.

Our expert team is specialized in providing nutrition care for Pre-Diabetes, Type 1 & Type 2 Diabetes, and Gestational Diabetes where we teach how to manage all aspects of Diabetes self-care by providing you with the nutrition and lifestyle guidance you need to take control of your diabetes.

Through your counseling sessions, you will learn how to plan meals & snacks and select foods that you enjoy to keep your blood sugar under control and improve your health.
