What is DermylexTM?

DermylexTM is a nutritional supplement made from a Patented Purified Whey Protein Fraction used to relieve the symptoms related to a mild or a moderate form of psoriasis.*

DermylexTM has been clinically tested in an open-label study and in a double-blind, randomized placebo-controlled study. In the latter, the efficacy was based primarily on the physician's global assessment (PGA), an assessment of overall lesion severity comprising 6 categories, ranging from none to very severe, based on plaque elevation, scaling and erythema.  The other efficacy assessments performed included the Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI) and an evaluation of the itch severity.

Results of these studies have shown a significant (p<0.05) improvement of their PGA, PASI and severity of itch scores after 56 days of use of DermylexTM, twice daily. According to researchers, this has translated in a better quality of life for the patient.

Overview of inflammatory reaction in psoriasis

Psoriasis is primarily due to an excessive proliferation of epidermal cells resulting in a chronic localized cutaneous thickening. An inflammatory reaction is associated with cutaneous areas, of which the most commonly affected are the elbows, knees, scalp and torso. Psoriasis is now recognized as an autoimmune disease in the course of which a specific and chronic imbalance of the immune system underlies the development and progress of the disease.  Though hereditary factors are known to be necessary, its cause remains unknown.
